It’s a funny thing how NOT being able to chat in the poker chat rooms can be a double edged sword. Several years ago, I used to sell a book on how to beat Poker Stars. I would just enter game rooms on poker stars and type my advertisement in and ALL (or most) the players could see it. The sales conversion was unbelievable. After many warnings Poker Stars banned my account. Being the smart guy that I am, I found a way to get unlimited FREE Poker Stars accounts. Over the course of a few months, I let Poker Stars have it. I sold hundreds of books at $50 each. I knew it was just a matter of time. Poker Styars eventually CHANGED there whole chat platform because of this HEHEHE. They finally contacted me again and said hey if you stop advertising we will unban your acount. Keep in mind this was my only REAL money account, but I wasn’t to concerned coinsidering there were countless other poker rooms to play on. It must have been there lawyers who advised them to turn my account back on anyways because when I went back to play a few months later my account was live and active. One problem though, I was banned from chatting. This didn’t seem like a big deal, but now a few years later, I find myself playing their wonderful $1 million dollar weekly Sunday tournaments. Of Course, I can’t chat. This is probably a good thing so I don’t make the mistake of giving information away about what my hand was when a player types in did you have AK? I can’t lie and I can’t tell the truth because I can’t chat HEH This is probably a good thing BUT if I ever make it to a final table and the players want to offer a chop deal, I can’t say yes or no. I don’t know if an administrator will come on and realize I can’t chat and let me communicate thorugh email, but this could cause a serious problem. The relaity is that I have never made a final table on their $1m tourney, and I probably never will. If I did one day and not being able to chat makes things worse, I will definitely question what the hell I was thinking when I spammed their chat rooms incessantly! LOL
